The last day of Sound Symposium and as sad as we are to see it go we could not have composed a better day as a send off for this years event. There were great outdoor performances by the Umbrella Ensemble performing Emily Doolittle's REEDS at Oxen Pond in the MUN Botanical Garden and Moritz Eggert's BREAKING THE WAVES for the Cape Spear Project last night.
The Umbrella Ensemble led their audience through the trees and trails of the gardens and Eggert led his audience along the sea coast and WWII era bunkers at Cape Spear National Park, the most eastern point of land in North America, delivering them to performers nestled in the alcoves and rocks as the North Atlantic crashed on the shore and whales put on their own show in the surrounding ocean.
Saturday's Harbour Symphony was BLOWING IN THE FOG by Gordon King.
