Hannah Boone was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland and is currently in her fourth year of her B.Mus. in Orchestral Trumpet Performance at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music where she studies with Russell DeVuyst (Associate Principal with the OSM). She is a Schulich Student Ambassador and recipient of the J.W. McConnell Scholarship, Oxford Music Scholarship and the Sara Berlind Memorial Scholarship. Hannah is a member of the McGill Contemporary Music Ensemble under the leadership of Guillaume Bourgogne. Hannah performs regularly with L’Orchestre Symphonique de L’îsle and L’Ensemble Sinfonia in Montreal. In 2015, Hannah was a soloist and trumpet player with the inaugural Whistler Institute Orchestra which performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Bramwell Tove.
Hannah has collaborated with Hopscotch, AE Bridger, Slick Nixon, Steve Maloney and the Wandering Kind, Dame Nature, People On Pause and Aquarius Dreams. She has performed at Lawnya Vawnya Music and Art festival in St. John’s NL, POP Montreal International Music Festival, and the St. John’s International Sound Symposium.
