Michael Boyle

Michael Boyle is a native of Lavey in South Derry Ireland who now lives in St. John’s Newfoundland. He has a number of poems published in the “The Antigonish Review” and “Dalhousie Review.” In 2014 he won the Arts and Letters prize for poetry and his first poetry collection “Whins from the Back Hill” is currently ready for publication.

Boyle is an independent scholar and he operates the famous historical walking tours in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Michael is an Irish Language speaker and has also written articles for the Irish language magazine “An t-Ultach.” In June 2017 he presented a paper in Magee College Derry on the Irish poet Seamus Heaney. He has presented papers to the Canadian Association of Irish Studies and The Canadian Story Tellers Association of Canada.
