>noice< is an electro-acoustic group exploring improvised music, noise, and experimental soundscapes. Founded in 2011, >noice< has maintained an attitude of change and growth through a revolving cast of characters that always includes the two Michaels — Waterman and Venart. Michael Waterman is a multidisciplinary artist focused on sound improvisation, electro-mechanical installations and experimental radio. He has presented his work extensively at galleries, museums, and festivals across Canada and abroad. He is also the founding member and St. John’s host of the long running inter-city improvised audio collage radio show, The Mannlicher Carcano Radio Hour. Michael Venart is a novice cellist.
