Helen Pridmore

Helen Pridmore enjoys a career focused on contemporary scored music, experimental music and improvisation. She made her Carnegie Hall debut with the American Symphony Orchestra in 2012, performing John Cage. Helen has presented major works by Philippe Leroux and Michael Finnissy with Victoria’s Aventa Ensemble, and will premiere a new Finnissy work with Aventa in 2018. She has also appeared in numerous multidisciplinary performances including GOYA (Regina, Mexico City), and Mirror (Regina, Open Ears Festival Kitchener).

A member of the new music ensembles Motion2 and improvisation duo Sbot N Wo, Helen has toured widely. She is featured on three recent CDs, including …between the shore and the ships…, which won the 2013 East Coast Music Award for Best Classical Recording. With degrees from the Universities of Saskatchewan and Toronto, and the Eastman School of Music, Helen is currently on faculty for Music and Creative Technologies at the University of Regina.
